Obviously if you have come across this then it’s happened to you like it has so many other gamers. One moment your Xbox 360 is all fine and well and the next moment from out of nowhere that once green ring of light has turned into the evil color of red.

Up until recently, if you had wanted to find a fix for your Xbox 360, it was almost impossible or at least you were very limited in what could be done. I’m sure you have heard of the ‘Towel Trick’ by now, any luck? Of course not, that’s why you are here reading what I did. One other thing I learned the hard way is that there are many fake products on the market that don’t really fix anything, just fix a nice big hole in your pocket. After all, who would fall for wrapping your Xbox in a towel and hoping it would magically work? Yea, right.

Some ‘so-called’ solutions told me to pop open my case on my Xbox 360 and begin to solder certain areas with a soldering iron, despite that I would have to purchase the tool, that would most definitely void any warranty I had left with Microsoft. So I don’t recommend going that route. My Xbox isn’t some little $5 toy, it is a nice and expensive gaming machine.

I definitely didn’t feel comfortable going with Microsoft’s supplied solution of me paying them to ship my Xbox back to them, waiting like a wet duck and then have them ship it back to me. I guess the biggest problem I had was the fact that they were going to charge me for it all. Somewhere in the range of $120-175, depending on the shipping method I would choose. And for me, that’s a lot of money. I didn’t mind the waiting periods just the cost.

So just to reaffirm with each of my readers how well pleased I was when I chose to go with the Xbox 360 Repair Manual that I talk about in a previous page, I highly recommend you checking it out before doing anything else. You will be absolutely amazed at how easy and fast it is and I guarantee you will be delighted when you are able to start gaming again in less that an hour or two.
